From the 11th to the 14th of September Openmed attended an international conference organized by Fondazione Mediterraneo, in Naples, about the role of the women in society as “Main Actresses of Dialogue”.
Within the workshop “Italy and women”, coordinated by the Steering Committee of the Italian Network, Openmed’s Vice President, Federica Romano, talked about the role of the women in Openmed Association, presented two implemented ENPI projects where women played a crucial role and proposed a project idea on women’s social inclusion to develop in the framework of next ENI CBC MED Call for strategic projects.
The meeting was also attended by Anna Catte, Director of ENI CBC MED program.
The international conference was organized in the frame of a Joint Action so-called “KĪMIYYA: Women Actress of Dialogue”, conceived and organized by the Fondazione Mediterraneo and 12 Anna Lindh Foundation National Networks and aimed to gather and deepen the work done so far by formulating concrete recommendations and operational guidelines, while enhancing the results of the previous work of the Fondazione Mediterraneo and the Anna Lindh Foundation and its Networks.
Women are the main “promoters” of connections between civil societies: by supporting their training, education and access to new tools and modern digital technologies, it will be possible to facilitate the intercultural dialogue in the Euro-Med region, reduce migration and address the causes of conflict.
